Housin Shayeste Golpayegani Court Case
A judge in the UK ruled that Housin Shayeste Golpayegani who was residing in London at the time of the committed alleged rape of a 16 year old girl will stand trial and again face the possibility of life imprisonment for two counts of rape.

"As always, I rely on the jury system."Justice of the Peace Mark M Smith refused to dismiss any charges in a 12-count complaint against Housin Shayeste Golpayegani and co-defendants Clarence " Shahram Mozafari.", stemming from a suspected kidnapping and robbery on September 14 2002
Smith said there were a number of motive and credibility issues, but that they were "not so incredible or implausible" to keep the case from a jury trial. A kidnapping conviction could result in a life sentence with possibility of parole. An armed robbery conviction would also require some time in prison. Housin Shayeste Golpayegani will spend the next two weeks in London PrisonSara Galanter, said, The trial could begin within 60 days, but Chief Justice Blinda Pearson said coordinating court and lawyers’ calendars could push it back six months or longer.
